First Impression helps Springfield Nursery Group develop an exciting marketing programme

Friday, November 26th, 2010

Springfield is a family-owned group of children’s day care nurseries across Derbyshire. They provide a fantastic service but felt they didn’t communicate this enough to existing and potential parents. They wanted to differentiate themselves and become the nursery provider of choice in the High Peak.

First Impression carried out some strategy work with the directors at Springfield to develop a marketing plan of activities for 2011 as well as a child development programme. This programme has been brought to life in a vibrant new branding initiative which has got staff, children and parents very excited. A new website and colourful newsletter have also been launched to keep parents and prospective parents informed and updated.

Veronica Hargreaves, FD at Springfield said, “We have many years’ experience running nurseries in the area with an excellent reputation. What we weren’t good at however was shouting out about it and telling people. But that’s what First Impression is good at. We trusted them to develop our brand and introduce some innovative new concepts that underpin what we were doing already, but they have somehow managed to join everything up into a beautiful seamless programme. First Impression has invigorated our business and we are very excited about the future.”

Does your business stand out from the crowd

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

Majority of the businesses that come to us, whether they want a new website, a branding refresh or a set of leaflets designed and printed, are looking for their business to stand out from the crowd. There is just so much competition out there these days, so many messages – on advertising, on our supermarket shelves, on websites, on email, on facebook and twitter – we don’t see everything. Getting our message and image across can be very difficult!

What used to work, often doesn’t work any more, or you have to combine a mix of different communication methods – direct mail, email marketing, social media and telephone marketing – which often makes the cost of sale more expensive. It means you have to think harder about who your target market is and what is the best way to reach them. And standing out from the crowd is really important, making sure you don’t just look and say what everyone else is doing. Find out what your differentiator is – what makes you different – and shout about it!

Take a look at our website www.firstimpression.co.uk to see how we help our customers stand out from the crowd and win more business.

Branding means business

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Your company brand or identity is important no matter what size of business you are- it’s how you can differentiate from the competition and it gives your company a personality.

A logo is central to your brand. Compare your logo to your competitors, if it’s not better or at least as compelling then you are in need of some logo surgery! Without a logo- or worse, with a poorly designed one- your organisation may look amateurish. A company can survive without a logo, but a great logo will help your customers and potential customers identify with you and give you a competitive edge.

Whether you like it or not, consumers become emotionally attached and loyal to brands. Take GAP for example, they decided to re-brand their business to give it “a more contemporary, modern expression.” However they didn’t consult their customers and as a result they experienced a huge backlash through social media sites. This prompted GAP to quickly revert back to the old, well known and well recognized logo.

We appreciate that your business may not be on the same scale as GAP, but getting your branding right doesn’t need to cost the earth. First Impression has a wealth of experience branding and re-branding companies across a range of industry sectors.

One of our most recent clients ‘Altus Adventure’ was a new business start up that wanted to provide training and development for a variety of clients, from corporate development teams to National Governing Award programmes.

Altus wanted a really strong brand that would make them stand out and immediately differentiate them from the smaller, lone operators that already existed in the market place. With this in mind First Impression develop their ideas into a viable brand, as well as producing a website and company brochure that made Altus look like a well established business in their market place.

Company Director Laura Offles said “The brand and website First Impression has developed for Altus Adventure is strong and powerful with a corporate feel which should help us break into corporate training”.

They approached First Impression to develop their ideas into a viable brand, a website and company brochure. Event and Music Media gets a new funky website!

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

Event and Music Media sources radio advertising for music and event promoters around the UK. They had a website but felt it was not powerful enough, particularly as they work in such a vibrant and lively industry. EMM asked First Impression to refresh their existing logo and design a website that captured the spirit of their business. The key to making a Return On their Investment was to open it up to their clients to use as a business tool.

First Impression developed a back end database that allowed EMM to create separate areas for each of their clients. These areas are used to store information about the artists, events and venues. Clients can now access the information they need, when they need 24/7 which keeps EMM one step ahead of their competitors.
