The £80 million Robin Hood Airport which opened for the first commercial flights in April 2005, was the first full service airport opened in the UK for over 50 years. Currently offering flights to over 40 destinations worldwide, the airport expects to carry over 1 million passengers in its first year of operation. The first regular weekly long haul flights to Florida, Mexico & Dominican Republic commence May 2006.
