Celebrating a successful decade!

First Impression celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2006 - a decade of growth and prosperity for the company and its clients.  In that time First Impression has successfully worked with those companies to improve communications with both customers and employees. By creating a niche for itself First Impression is recognised as a specialist ‘end-to-end’ solutions provider for internal and external publications.

Helen Duncan, who started the company and now manages the growing team, reflects on the past ten years, “We have worked with local businesses to major blue chip organisations, and I am very proud to say that many are still loyal clients today -
so I know we are doing something right! For a small (but growing) company we can offer a unique service without compromising on individual client relationships, managing their publications from the initial concept right through to delivery. Our clients return to us because they have the confidence in our ability to produce consistently high quality work, our flexibility to work around their requirements combined with a genuine desire to understand their business drivers.

The next decade

“Looking forward, it’s an exciting time for First Impression. We have recently expanded our business to Doncaster - an area that has seen over £180 million private sector investment and 4000 new jobs created in the last eighteen months alone. For us, change is a great opportunity - getting the communications right can make the difference to the success or failure of a project.

“In line with our growth strategy, we have refreshed our brand. Our new logo displays a more modern, clean image to reflect our overall business ethos and our strap line  ‘Communication by Design’ has been strengthened by trade marking. Of course, brand is more than a logo, brand represents the identity of a company and it is an extremely powerful way of communicating with your customers. “BT has been an important client for us over the past ten years and we have witnessed their transformation from a traditional telecommunications company into the global networked IT services company that it is today. This transformation has taken several years and has been accompanied with changes in its own branding and corporate style to reflect the presence in a digital networked economy.  First Impression has to ensure the internal publications we are producing for BT reflects the overall corporate style and includes consistent corporate messages. Here’s a few of the publications First Impression has produced for BT in the past ten years - with many changes in logo as well as style ! ”
